My intention to make these floats fail. It turned out that here in Bulgaria one such float costs 25 euros. 50 Euros for two float seems quite expensive. : (I'll think about other options ...

Hi,Rimohit!
Try with PVC Foam (do not mistake,is not Styrofoam !!
Search in Google,key words: Pvc foam,gary dierking,pvc foam amas etc.
